N-640 Connector (Al / AsXsn)

Universal double-side insulation piercing connector, designed for making safe branch connections from insulated Al main lines with a wide range of cross-sections.

  • Main Line (insulated): 6 - 150 mm²
  • Branch: 1.5 - 35 mm²
  • Shear Torque: 14 Nm
  • Compatibility: Al and Cu

Key Advantages of the N-640 Connector

Double-Side Piercing

The connector pierces the insulation on both the main and branch conductors, eliminating the need for insulation stripping and reducing installation time.

Full Safety

The zero-potential bolt enables safe Live Working (Live Line Working - LLW). Connection tightness is guaranteed by a 6 kV voltage test underwater.

14 Nm Shear Head

The use of a shear bolt (size 13 wrench) ensures that optimal electrical contact is obtained without using a torque wrench.

Application and Design

Operational Characteristics:

  • UV Resistance: Made of durable materials resistant to atmospheric aging.
  • Insulating Cap: Integrated protection for the end of the branch conductor.
  • Easy Disassembly: Can be removed using an open-ended wrench.
  • Versatility: A single solution for a wide range of cross-sections.

Installation Instructions

  1. Insert the branch conductor into the hole equipped with the sealing cap.
  2. Place the connector onto the insulated conductor of the main line.
  3. Tighten the bolt until the upper part of the head shears off (shear head).
  4. The connector does not require stripping the insulation from either of the conductors.

The N-640 connector is a proven product by NILED, guaranteeing connection durability under the most demanding weather conditions.
